The Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids and CVS have joined forces to create Taking Down Tobacco-a series of free training courses to help youth advocates and adult allies stand up to tobacco. In 2014 CVS made a monumental move to stop selling tobacco products and has committed $50 million to help adults and youth to live tobacco free lives.
Users begin with Taking Down Tobacco 101 that gives an introduction to tobacco products and the tobacco industry. When Taking Down Tobacco 101 is completed, users can graduate to more comprehensive courses, like Training the Trainer where advocates can learn how to apply their training to educating others. This opportunity will be perfect for any Boone County organizations that would like to have tobacco-free awareness days or use this to help kick off tobacco-free advocacy events.
