Race fans have been asking the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to go smoke-free- and they listened. Starting in October 2017, the grandstands at one of the most well-known racetracks in the US will be smoke-free, including e-cigarettes. Starting with this year’s Red Bull Air Race, those who smoke will be asked to do so at least 20 feet away from buildings and reserved seating entrances.
But race fans don’t have to wait until October to be able to sit in smoke-free seats. Smoke-free family grandstands will be available during the 2017 INDYCAR Grand Prix, Miller Lite Carb Day, and the Brickyard 400. Smoking will still be allowed in the track’s infield.
